Black out for Performances - 2 weeks
prior to all performances every effort must be made to
attend all rehearsals. This could include non-scheduled
days. Please try not to request time off.
Ballet IV & Company - Guest Choreographers.
Nationally recognized Master Teachers/Choreographers
have pre-set schedules. In order to get them to come to
PRB, we have to rearrange our schedule. The weekly
schedule will change at that time. We will post the
changes as much in advance as possible. If it is not
possible for your child to attend these classes, we need
to know as soon as possible. This will enable us to tell
the choreographer that your child is not available for
the choreography. The student must also tell the
choreographer prior to the start of the piece if they
are not available for the entire choreographic session.
After school activities - Please try
to arrange your activities so they do not conflict with
your dance commitment. Three (3) unexcused absences from
class or rehearsal may (at the discretion of the teacher
or choreographer) result in being removed from
choreography. If there is a conflict, please discuss it
as much in advance as possible and in person with the
faculty. Notes need to be delivered in person. Please
report to the office with your note so it can be put
onto the calendar. In the event of illness, please call
the office prior to the start of classes. Please make
every effort to attend all rehearsals and classes.
Makeup classes should be discussed with faculty.
Students should try to be in the studio at least
30-45 minutes prior to the start of class.
Pre-class warm-up reduces the risk of injury.
If you are late, please ask the teacher/choreographer
for permission to participate in the remainder of the
class. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may be
asked to observe, due to risk of injury.
Dressing Room - No one is allowed in
the dressing room during rehearsals! You may bring your
homework into the studio with you during the rehearsal.
Please, no parents in the dressing room. If you are
waiting for your child, please wait in the parent's
lobby. The dressing room is for dancers and staff only.
Please make every effort to keep the dressing area
clean. Throw your trash in the cans.
No colored fingernail polish or excessive long nails.
You may wear pink or clear color.
Only one pair of earrings may be worn for all classes
and rehearsals.
No water bottles are allowed in the classroom when
you are taking class.
Ballet IV & Company - If you are not
selected for choreography, you may be assigned a
specific part as an understudy and are required to
participate. Please do not ask to leave early.
SUMMER PROGRAMS - All Ballet I, II,
IIA III, IIIA, IV and Company students are required to
take a minimum of five (5) weeks in PRB's Summer
Program, unless otherwise recommended by the Artistic
Director. The Artistic Director will make suggestions to
selected students regarding outside summer programs.
New students enrolling at the School in September
must audition for The Nutcracker if they did not attend
the 5 week Summer Program.
Please do not drop your child off or park across the
street from the church or on Dauphin Street, in front of
the houses, or in the laundromat parking lot. You may
use our side of North Enola Drive from the studio to the
Lutheran Church and our parking lot.
Additional rules and regulations are printed in PRB's
2011-2012 STUDENT HANDBOOK,
which is available electronically by clicking
here.
